Its Not About The Preacher

A lot of confusion arises when we discuss healings, signs, and wonders. Most of this confusion comes from centuries of bad teaching which has infected the church. God’s goal for us Christians is to mature by reading the Word of God for ourselves and act upon what we just read. By doing this we will become mature Christians and ‘be like’ Christ. It is not God’s will that we go from miracle crusade to miracle crusade and get prophesied to by other believers. The healing/miracle crusades are for the unbelievers to believe. The signs and wonders are so that the unbelievers will begin to study the Word and become disciples of Jesus themselves.

So that being said, does God confirm the preacher, or man/woman of God with signs and wonders? No. The intention from God was never to get you to believe the man/woman but to focus on God and His Word. God does not confirm the person, he confirms His Word with signs and wonders. If an unbeliever acts upon the Word, people will get healed, even though he has no relationship with Jesus.

What? You mean to tell me an unbeliever can perform miracles according to the Word? That’s exactly what Jesus was explaining when he said many will come before Him and say, ‘Didn’t we prophesy in your name?’ and ‘Didn’t we cast out demons in your name?’ Yes, many will do this. There are many corrupt preachers who will work healings, signs, and wonders effectively and fall in this category.

The goal of Demonstrate It Ministries  is to assist genuine followers of Christ to minister to the lost by using healings, signs, and wonders. But once you learn how to operate this way, the bar is raised. The temptation arises for you to take the gifts of the Holy Spirit and try to unrighteously profit of them. I’m sure you have seen a preacher on late night TV trying to sell you a healing cloth or healing water from Israel as a point of contact. The miracle is real and the healing works, but the one doing it could have a corrupted heart. Jesus said freely you have received, so freely give. Once you start down this road of charging to prophesy or charging to heal, you are going down the road of psychics, medium, and witchcraft.

So the focus is on the Word, not the preacher. Anyone can work the miracles. God wants people to believe His Word. When you start to look at the preacher, you are bound to be disappointed. Even in Jesus’ ministry days, there were those with him performing miracles that were not on board with him. Today, we would not consider Judas a genuine man of God, but he was right there with Jesus healing the sick and performing miracles. If Judas was alive today he would probably have a global healing ministry, 2 million Twitter followers, and a show on TBN. And then millions would be heartbroken when a big scandal breaks out because his heart was corrupt all along.

In fact, how many of the 72 that went out with Jesus raising the dead and curing the sick do we hear about after their expedition? They certainly were not with Him as He was being crucified.
Be a genuine disciple of Christ, and use the gift of the Holy Spirit to win the lost souls for Christ.

If more Christians moved in signs and wonders there would not be such a huge spotlight on the handful of Christians who do. It would become expected and the focus would return back to Jesus instead of the preacher.

In Acts 17:6, the Greeks said, ‘Those who have turned the world upside down have come here also.’ Simply hearing about the followers of Jesus coming to their town, the Greeks knew something amazing was about to happen.

If millions of Christians are laying hands on the sick, the few bad apples would not stand out. The world would again have to take notice of the message!
